What makes Your Key Your Door unique and timely?

Your child is unique and deserves a program that is designed to enhance their specific growth path.

Satisfaction comes from following a life purpose that fits you.  For young adults, that journey is often unclear or obscured by the many voices in the contemporary world.

Our courses use powerful questions to help your teen look inside themselves to find out who they are, discover their purpose, and ways they can contribute uniquely to the world.  Our well-trained mentors work collaboratively with your teen and guide them through a discovery process that enables them to then live their best life.

Accountability is another key aspect of what we offer, because even if your teen knows what to do, often it just never gets done!  We will inspire them to work through this self-discovery, during class, and our process will connect them with their internal motivation.

How often do the classes meet?

Most classes will meet weekly, at the same time/day each week for 9 weeks in a row.

Is there homework?

Your student should plan to spend about one to two hours per week on 'homework'.  Obvioulsy, this is an average number, so some will spend more than this, and others less.

There is some reading to do, and there are daily monitoring of thoughts and feelings that will need to take place.  There will also be some job-shadow experiences that will be needed in the Career-focused class, toward the end of the term.

Do I need to purchase a book?

No, the book is the foundation of our course and is included at no charge.

What is the cancellation policy?

People who's children have experienced these classes tell us that it is the most important class their child has ever taken. This class has the power to change your child's life!  We simply can not emphasize enough that attendance is of utmost importance for your child to receive the full benefit of what we have to offer.

If by some unknown, rare circumstance, a class is missed, you must reach out to the instructor in order to access the recording.  Recordings will not be provided unless contact with the instructor has happened at least 20 minutes before class began, to let them know you will be missing class.  Certification at the end of the class will be dependent on attendance, and participation.  More than one absence will mean that no certificate will be offered.

What is the confidentiality expectations for the things my student shares with the group, in class?

We encourage our students to share what they learn from us in class, with their family or friends, however, things communicated by themselves and other students are confidential, and must not be shared without written permission from the individual that shared.  Your student will need to sign a confidentiality agreement, before attending the first class.  This is a unique strength to our program.  What happens in class stays in class.  Our instructors only communicate as required when we receive items that fall under mandatory reporting responsibilities.  We do welcome comments from the parents, to help us have full insight into how we can best help your child through this important journey. Feel free to e-mail us!

What can I do to support my student, while they are doing this important work?

We offer an additional book, and class, which is specifically designed to help you as a parent, learn how to support and encourage your student's progress on this journey.  While this additional resource is not required, it is definitely encouraged, as it will give you the tools that will make parenting easier, and help you strengthen your relationship with your child.

One-to-one coaching is also available, directly with Teri Haggerty PCC, she can personally guide you as a parent, or individually focus on your child.
